Historic club merger confirms commitment to the future of representative football in North West Sydney
NWS Koalas FC and NWS Spirit FC are proud to officially announce the merging of both clubs for the 2022 winter season.
The new entity will see the unification of previously autonomous female and male football operations under the one banner of NWS Spirit Football Club and will continue to proudly display the Koala logo.

NWSF Partners with Youthsafe
NWSF is proud to announce its community partnership with Youthsafe, a longstanding local charity whose mission is to ‘Partner to prevent unintentional injuries in young people’.
Both organisations are passionate advocates of young people, their families and coaches both on and off the field.
“The NWSF and NWS Spirit Football Club take great pride in providing our players and coaches in our community with platforms and pathways to play football. We also realise the positive influence sporting clubs can have upon the mostly young people who play.
“This is central to partnering with Youthsafe who have been leaders in the safety and wellbeing of young people for almost 40 years.” Mark Lockie, NWSF CEO said.
The partnership will see the Youthsafe logo on all NWS Spirit 1st grade shorts, website and social media posts.
A grant under the NSW Government’s Local Club Sport Program will enable Youthsafe to provide presentations for NWSF club coaches and collateral for NWSF newsletters with information relating to young people and risk on the roads, in workplaces, playing sport and safer socialising as well as articles and research.
“As the Chief Executive of Youthsafe I am delighted at the partnership with NWSF .
“It’s not often synergies are so strong and we are genuinely excited to provide valuable, relevant, resources to parents, coaches, families and of course the young players within the NWSF .” Warren Johnson, Youthsafe Chief Executive.

NWS Spirit FC is the representative football program run by North West Sydney Football Ltd (NWSF)
NWS Spirit FC Men's Seniors teams are entered in the FNSW League One competition in First Grade & Under 20 competitions, with Spirit FC Boys' Youth teams in Under 18, 16, 15, 14 and 13 in the FNSW Youth League.
NWS Spirit FC Women's Seniors teams are entered in the NPL NSW Women's competition in First Grade & Reserve Grade; competitions, with Spirit FC Girls' Youth teams in Under 18, 16, 15, 14 and 13 in the FNSW Youth League.
Selection trials for NWS Spirit FC are normally held in the October of each Calendar year on a date fixed by FNSW.
